Senior Interior Designer
At John Jacob Interiors, we offer a holistic approach to design from architectural detailing to furnishing and we’re looking for a Junior Interior Designer with a passion for creating timeless, elegant spaces to join our award-winning team.
What you’ll do:
-
draw the full set of working drawings in AutoCAD, and create all the necessary schedules.

Source & select finishes, sanitaryware, ironmongery, etc. as well as decorative items
-
regular communication/meetings with the Project Manager, QS, builder, suppliers and various subcontractors
-
attend all site meetings, site inspections, joinery/furniture factory meetings, etc
-
constantly monitor the project BOQ
-
manage joinery/furniture production
-
be the JJI point of contact for the client
What we’re looking for:

Min 5 years experience
-
Must reside in Cape Town, South Africa
-
Bachelor’s degree or other tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Architecture or related discipline
-
Proficiency in AutoCAD & SketchUp is a must
-
Highly organised with a keen eye for detail and numerically oriented (great with Microsoft Excel)
-
Must have reliable car to go to site meetings etc
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to travel locally and internationally for projects

Demonstrate commitment to excellence in design & design execution

Demonstrate advanced understanding of the decorating process
-
Ability to work independently as well as in a team oriented, collaborative environment

Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
