We are currently looking for the following designers to join our team:
Senior Interior Designer – Specialising in Interior Architecture
Requirements:
– Min 5-10 years experience
– Proficiency in AutoCAD & SketchUp is a must
– Demonstrate advanced understanding of the interior design/interior architecture process
Job Description:
- Be responsible for a project from design development through to execution.
- Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor (QS), Builder, and various subcontractors.
- Attend all site meetings, site inspections, joinery/furniture factory meetings, etc
- Client Liaison: Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Procurement for projects – Source & select finishes, sanitaryware, ironmongery, etc.
- Drawing up the full set of working drawings in CAD, as well as creating schedules (Lighting, Sanitaryware, doors, ironmongery, finishes, etc).
- Constantly monitor the project BOQ
- Checking and signing off on all joinery & specialist shop drawings (pergola’s, pools, windows, doors, etc.)
Senior Interior Designer – Specialising in FF&E (Interior decorating)
– Min 5-10 years experience
– Proficiency in AutoCAD & SketchUp is a must
– Demonstrate advanced understanding of the interior decorating process
Job Description:
- Be responsible for a project from design development through execution.
- Maintain regular communication with suppliers of furniture, fabrics, décor, and accessories.
- Attend site inspections,
- Client Liaison: Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Procurement and sourcing of furniture, lighting, fabric and wallpaper, bedding, linens, towels, sculpture and artwork, as well as manufacturing styling items and decor pieces.
- Initial Proposals: Prepare and present preliminary budget proposals for the decorating scope (estimate).
- Budget Control: Monitor and manage procurement budgets (Decorating Schedule).
- Cost Presentation: Prepare and present costs to clients.
- Prepare detailed packs for freestanding joinery, upholstery, outdoor furniture, lighting options, curtains, rugs/carpets, Artwork & Framing, Wallpaper – sometimes with multiple options.
- Technical Drawings: Producing drawings for all freestanding joinery, upholstery, artwork & framing, (lighting) etc.
- Checking and signing off on all furniture shop drawings
Junior Interior Designer
– Min 2 years experience
– Proficiency in AutoCAD & SketchUp is a must
– Demonstrate advanced understanding of the interior design/interior architecture process
Job Description:
- Work with Senior Interior Designers on a project from design development through to execution.
- Attend site meetings, site inspections, joinery/furniture factory meetings, etc
- Procurement for projects – Source & select finishes, sanitaryware, ironmongery, etc.
- Drawing up the full set of working drawings in CAD, as well as creating schedules (Lighting, Sanitaryware, doors, ironmongery, finishes, etc).
General Requirements for all positions:
- Effectively work as part of a larger team, contributing to a positive and collaborative environment.
- Effectively prioritize tasks and manage time to ensure project deadlines are met, while maintaining high-quality design standards.
- Keep accurate daily timesheets via Toggl or other designated system.
- Highly organised with a keen eye for detail
- Must reside in Cape Town, South Africa
- Bachelor’s degree or other tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Architecture or related discipline
- Must have reliable car to go to site meetings etc
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel locally and internationally for projects
- Demonstrate commitment to excellence in design & design execution
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of the decorating process
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team oriented, collaborative environment
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
- Required to provide contactable references
Working Hours:
Working hours are 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday at our office in Bree Street, Cape Town.
